Turkish AI Voiceover: Compare Zephyr and Orus Fairly

A voice that sounds natural in its first sentence may still misread numbers, skip words or lose consistency during a longer video. Compare voices on the work they need to do, then check the final audio from beginning to end. A voice name or short demo cannot replace that check.
Use one script for both candidates
Start with the same text, model, delivery instructions and comparable listening volume. Include an everyday sentence, a price, a percentage, a product name and a longer technical explanation. Otherwise you may be comparing two different scripts rather than two voices.
Keep the original script and save each output with a useful name. Record the voice, model and prompt alongside the file. If a later result differs, this record helps you see whether the voice changed or the production conditions did.
Score concrete listening qualities
Use separate notes for intelligibility, number accuracy, emphasis, pace and consistency. A dramatic voice can be distracting in a calculation guide; a flat delivery can bury the key result. The relevant question is whether a listener can follow the explanation without repeatedly replaying it.
For Turkish numbers, writing the intended spoken form can make the input clearer. For example, a price written in digits can be expanded into words. Still listen to the generated output: a clearer prompt is not proof that the recording contains every word correctly.
Separate preference from a general quality claim
GKN Labs selected Zephyr for a female narrator option and Orus for a male narrator option in the production discussed in the video. This records a listening preference. It does not establish that either voice is objectively best for every Turkish topic, listener or production setup.
Run your own short sample with the terms you use. Technical abbreviations, brand names and dense calculations may expose problems that a greeting or promotional sentence does not reveal. Evaluate the whole sentence, including pauses around important quantities.
Check completion before editing
In the project's first long NAS-cloud script, an initial downloaded output was much shorter than expected and stopped before the text ended. That observation belongs to that production; it is not a universal duration limit for all models or accounts.
Check the final sentence against the script and inspect the total recording duration. Listen at normal playback speed for missing passages, repetition and clipped endings. A file existing on disk or a player showing a waveform does not prove that the entire script was spoken.
Regenerate the smallest useful section
Breaking narration into meaningful scenes can make corrections easier. Keep enough context for natural delivery, and compare the corrected segment's pace and tone with its neighbours. Listen across the join after assembly, since individually clear files can still sound abrupt when combined.
Align subtitles to the final audio rather than to an assumed speaking speed. If music is present, check that spoken numbers and the conclusion remain understandable. A text-perfect subtitle cannot compensate for an incorrect number in the voiceover.
Track production cost honestly
Record attempts, regenerated segments, duration and the provider's reported usage. Promotional credit is different from a new card charge. An estimated cost calculation is different from a bill, and a subscription should not automatically be treated as the same product as API usage.
This guide does not quote a current per-minute price. Check the relevant account's pricing before production and its usage record afterwards. Google documents supported speech-generation controls in its official guide; the actual model and voice used should remain attached to each production record.
The practical acceptance check is simple: compare the script with the finished recording, listen through the ending, verify the captions and retain the evidence. That process matters more than choosing a voice from its description alone.
